Floor Secret Santa/Christmas Party

Describe it...
We had a Floor Secret Santa, where the girls signed-up if they wanted to participate. I then put each name of a slip of paper and allowed each girl to pick out a name. They then were the secret santa for that girl for a week. At the end of the week (it was on Sunday), we went to our floor parent's home and baked/decorated Christmas sugar cookies, ate pizza and lots of other yummy snacks, revealed to eachother our secret santas and did our final gift exchange, then watched a movie.

Crafty Floor Event

Describe it...
Since the theme for our floor is "Fruits of the Spirit," we built a tree out of construction paper and we each made what "fruit" represents us most and put it up on the tree (ex: watermelon - kindness). This tree was put up on the wall at the end of our hallway. I also put out some magazines so the girls could construct a "Who I am" collage. The third crafty project was to write a letter to themselves that I will give them at the end of the year. They were able to do one or all of these projects.  I also bought some snackes for this event.

Publicity
emails, ad on our floor facebook page, posters

Set-Up:
not very much set-up needed. I just brough out the magazines from the RA office, and put out crafy material like construction paper, scissors, glue, etc.

Clean-Up:
Some of the girls stayed behind and helped clean up some of the mess from cutting out magazines and all.

$ (insert event cost here)
About $8 (for the snacks)

Positive Outcomes:
It was a great time to get away from homework and reflect on what makes each girls so unique (by thinking through what fruit of the spirit best represents them as well as making a collage of who they are)

What would you have done differently
Nothing really
